Being a bit generous on the stars some might say... considering the outcome after a couple hours use, total... BUT our dog is quite an "aggressive chewer" I think! ( my first dog so? If not, then a good 80% of the things we have gotten for her are terribly made🤣😏)

Ok- taking into consideration her chewing ability- this thing worked better than another similar item we tried to help hold her "sticks" (yak) as she was so scared of that one it was useless! She seemed to get the hang of this one soon enough! Was funny to watch her figure it outüòÜ but she did... and then as soon as I thought we were safe to not pay nearly as much attention... well you can see just how bad she was chewing on the blue "bone" instead of (or actually in addition to) her yak stick!! Ugh...üôÄ I do worry a bit as the plastic bits are quite hard and sharp- esp compared to her stick- ESPECIALLY after she's been slobbering all over it and softening it up! I'd prefer she just hold on to it herself and even continue to chew on it with the whole thing in her mouth- at least to the size we normally stop at which is usually a bit longer than this.

Holder aside- the sticks themselves were somewhat brittle and had quite a few chunks break off rather quickly! See the videoüòè They did last longer than I expected after the first several minutes!
Either way, I would NOT recommend having a holder that requires you to only buy their brand of sticks that have the hole drilled in them! If you've been buying these for very long at all, you're aware of just how much they can cost!! So I like to be able to shop around for the best deal of the brands we've come to trust!

I just can't recommend getting this holder that not only was somewhat easy to chew to bits, but IF you can still get the screw in and out after the damage- to replace the sticks- then you're stuck buying what they offer! (Unless you're super handy and steady with a drill🤣🫣 but for obvious reasons that's NOT advisable! It would quite likely crack anyway even if everything else survived intact!😆)

Sorry- great idea but another "dud" holder for us- think I'm done and will just keep making slightly larger puffs from what she holds onto herself! She loves those things!
These also worked quite well when "poofed" at the end, but do NOT let 'em sneak it into the couch or anywhere decent as those puffs make a MESS! This was no exception!üòò
Final Tip- if your pup is as insanely impatient for this puff thing as mine is- pop it in the freezer for a minute or two- much quicker to cool off! üê∂

Wasn't sure what to expect but this thing actually works. My dog hasn't been able to pull the chew out once. It's super easy to use — just screw it through and that's it. I've been using it for the yak chews, but I just grabbed some of their bully sticks too since it works for those as well.

I have given my dog yack cheese treats like this from a variety of brands, and she definitely liked these more than others. I decided to give her one that was not attached to the holder and one that was secured in the holder and she opted to use the holder every time so it did give her something different to play with that she liked which is positive. Rather than clamping onto the cheese, there is a hole drilled at the bottom where you put the pin through and secure it into the holder. You will either need to use the same brand with the pre drilled hole or drill a hole in you preferred cheese. I did notice that my dog had some difficulty chipping off pieces to eat since they are very hard, much harder than others where she had no problem chipping off pieces which keeps her interest.

I finally found a yak chew holder that works. Since yak chews are so hard and slippery they always slipped out of previous holders I have used but this one actually works. This is holder is different because there are holes pre drilled in each yak cheese chew. There is a bolt that goes through each chew so that it is impossible for my dog to pull it out. The only downside is yes, I will need to buy the refill packs through this brand but they are great chews that are the same price as others so it's really not an issue.

Bonus: This holder also works with thier bully sticks, I just ordered a pack of those too.

These chews LAST! We have bully breeds who just tear through any treats we give them in minutes. These chews will last for days and keep the dogs occupied. They do sometimes chip off in small chunks, so I keep an eye on my dogs when they are working on them. They don't stain the carpet like some chews. All in all, a great product!
